Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of www.jriceillustrations.co.uk and your purchase of products from Jonnie Rice Illustrations (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or place an order.

1. About us and contact details

Jonnie Rice Illustrations is an illustration business based in Northern Ireland, creating and selling artwork, prints and greeting cards.

2. Using this website

  • You must be at least 18 years old or using the site under the supervision of a parent or guardian to place an order.

  • You agree not to use the site for any unlawful purpose or in a way that may damage, disable or impair the site.

  • We may suspend or withdraw the site (or part of it) where necessary for business or security reasons.

We may update or change the content on the site from time to time. While we try to keep everything accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that the site, or any content on it, will always be free from errors or omissions.

3. Our products

Our products include original illustrations, art prints, greeting cards and related items.

  • Hand-crafted nature: Many items are individually produced or finished. Small variations in colour, tone or positioning may occur compared with images shown on the website.

  • Colours and images: We try to display colours and details accurately, but they may look different depending on your screen or device settings.

  • Limited editions: Where items are sold as limited editions or numbered prints, we will indicate the edition size and numbering in the product description or on the product itself.

We reserve the right to discontinue or change products at any time.

4. Ordering from us

4.1 Steps to place an order

To place an order:

  1. Browse the online shop and select the products you wish to purchase.

  2. Add them to your cart.

  3. Proceed to checkout and provide your contact, delivery and payment details.

  4. Confirm your order.

You are responsible for checking that your order details are correct before confirming.

4.2 Acceptance of your order

  • After you place an order, you may receive an email acknowledging that we have received it. This acknowledgement is not acceptance of your order.

  • Acceptance occurs when we send a confirmation email or dispatch your order (whichever happens first). At that point a contract is formed between you and us.

We may decline or cancel an order, for example if:

  • The product is out of stock

  • We cannot obtain authorisation for your payment

  • There is an error in the product description or price

  • We reasonably suspect fraudulent activity

If we cannot accept your order and payment has already been taken, we will refund you as soon as reasonably possible.

5. Prices and payment

  • All prices on the website are shown in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include UK VAT where applicable.

  • We may change prices at any time. The price you pay is the price displayed at the time you place your order.

  • We use third-party payment providers to process payments securely. You must provide accurate and complete payment information.

  • Your order will only be dispatched once full payment has been received and cleared.

For orders delivered outside the UK, you may be responsible for any local taxes, customs duties or import charges, which are not included in our prices.

6. Shipping and delivery

  • We aim to dispatch orders within a reasonable time after acceptance and payment.

  • Estimated delivery times are provided as a guide only and are not guaranteed.

  • Delivery may be made via Royal Mail or other courier services.

Risk and title:

  • Risk in the products passes to you when they are delivered to the address you provide.

  • Ownership of the products passes to you once we have received full payment.

Please check your delivery address carefully when placing an order. We cannot be held responsible for lost or undeliverable items caused by incorrect address details.

7. International orders

If you order products for delivery outside the UK:

  • Delivery times may be longer and subject to customs checks.

  • You are responsible for complying with any local laws and regulations regarding the import of products.

  • You are responsible for any customs duties, taxes or fees imposed by the destination country.

8. Returns, cancellations and refunds

8.1 Your right to cancel (UK consumers)

If you are a consumer in the UK, you may have the right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

  • For most products, you have 14 days from the day after you receive the items to cancel your order and request a refund.

  • You must notify us of your decision to cancel within this period (for example, by email).

  • You then have a further 14 days to return the items to us in their original condition.

You are responsible for the cost of returning the items (unless they are faulty or not as described).

8.2 Items that cannot be cancelled or returned

You do not have a right to cancel or return:

  • Customised, personalised or made-to-order items created according to your specific requirements, once work has begun

  • Items which, for health or hygiene reasons, are not suitable for return if opened (if applicable)

8.3 Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If an item arrives faulty, damaged or not as described:

  1. Please contact us as soon as possible (and within 30 days of delivery where reasonably possible).

  2. Provide your order details and, if you can, photographs of the issue.

  3. We will work with you to offer a repair, replacement or refund in accordance with your legal rights.

8.4 Refunds

Where a refund is agreed:

  • We will refund you using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, where possible.

  • Refunds will normally be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned items or confirming that a refund is due.

9. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise:

  • All artwork, illustrations, designs, images, text and other content on this website are the intellectual property of Jonnie Rice and/or Jonnie Rice Illustrations.

  • All rights are reserved.

When you purchase a product, you are buying a physical item only, not the copyright. You may:

  • Display the purchased artwork or card for your personal enjoyment

  • Give it as a personal gift to someone else

You may not, without our prior written permission:

  • Reproduce, scan, copy, or distribute the artwork in any form

  • Use the artwork commercially (e.g. on merchandise, marketing materials, or for resale as prints)

  • Use the artwork as part of a logo, brand identity or other commercial design

If you are interested in licensing artwork for commercial use or commissioning original work, please contact us.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law

Subject to this:

  • We will not be liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, loss of business opportunity or other indirect or consequential loss.

  • Our total liability to you in respect of any claim arising under or in connection with a contract for sale shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant product(s).

11. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for failing to perform, or for delay in performing, any of our obligations under a contract where this is caused by an event outside our reasonable control (for example, postal strikes, extreme weather, pandemics, or disruption to transport networks).

If such an event occurs, we will take reasonable steps to minimise its impact and fulfil your order as soon as reasonably possible.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in law or business practice. The version that applies to your order is the version in force at the time you placed the order.

We recommend that you review these Terms periodically.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any contracts between us are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom, as applicable.

You and we both agree that the courts of Northern Ireland will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This means you may bring a claim in the courts where you live if you are a consumer in the UK.
