Further Fey Adventures
Latest collection of A3 and A4 high quality Fey at Play prints available at the shop . Pen and ink. These latest images are something of a development on the previous Four Fairies collection. In this series are depicted four seelie ( ‘seelie’ means happy or blessed in Lowland Scottish Folklore) fairy characters, welcoming the imminent arrival of Spring, the most auspicious time of year. The Fey at Play and the Four Fairies
There are a number of subtle, continuing themes running through a lot of my work especially the Four Fairies and the Fey at Play . In particular is the recurring idea of placing or setting. Ideally something that will provide a contrasting prop for the main character or subject. In both series a leaf or a mushroom is used as a platform or a prop. So...Why Pointillism?
I have been drawing all my life and pencil drawing has always been at the very heart of my artistic endeavour. Pointillism, or stippling, is really just a development of an already well rehearsed technique of shading, which after so many years has become second nature to me.
